About Sydney Craig: a fresh public relations researcher, strategist and copywriter.
My life’s guide has been to learn the “why” of every situation. Why would that happen. Why did this happen then? What will happen next? How can I shape what happens next? Public relations is about problem solving, and research and strategy is all part of the problem-solving process.
These “why” questions drive my academics. I grew up in Seattle, WA and later moved to Chicago to pursue my degree in Advertising & Public Relations and Political Science. Needless to say, I enjoy a lot of stuff to be going on around me. Even more so when there is lots to dissect around me. As a student, I am never feeling bored. And while being engaged, I have made Dean’s List every semester since beginning my education at Loyola.
I continue to pursue in depth research and flex my strategic abilities through participating in Chicago’s first student run communication agency, Inigo Communications. I am a current Media & PR Executive for my second semester involved with the agency. With Inigo, I have conducted numerous competitive analyses, SWOT analyses, donation handbooks and LinkedIn guides. The agency is a space to learn, practice and home in on writing for different audiences and conveying clients’ values. I love looking at a company or brand and seeing where they have been excelling and where they are falling short, and how to strengthen their image. My previous clients include Project Lyme, Loyola’s School of Communication and Science Coach, and I currently have the wonderful privilege of working with Qazi Law Group.
